Reiki – An Understanding
“Reiki” is Japanese meaning “Universal Life Energy” It is an ancient natural therapy that promotes healing on all levels; Mind, Body and Spirit.
Reiki is a safe, non-intrusive, non-manipulative therapy, used to access natural vibrational energy. By using traditional hand positions, one can access and transmit this natural healing energy to create and maintain balance and harmony within the body.
Reiki promotes and enhances the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Addressing physical and emotional imbalances, both chronic and acute, bringing relief from disharmony and pain. It has been documented and recorded in the media, that Reiki was used to bring New Zealand cyclist Hayden Roulston back to health from a dangerous heart condition and within two years, go on to win Silver and Bronze medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and a Silver Medal in the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Treatments
Chakra balancing, Aura cleansing and removing unresolved issues from the past, the present and the future. Removing any negative energies, therefore, creates an emotional balance, enabling you to handle the stresses of life.
1st Degree Course – Novice
This is the 1st step of the Reiki attunement process. You will learn the basic hand positions to heal yourself and others. Knowledge of the Chakra System; Reiki Principles, History of Reiki, Meditation, and hands-on healing are comprehensively taught. After Reiki 1 attunement, an individual’s Spiritual and Psychic awareness is increased by 50‐80%. Enabling you to help yourself and others.
2nd Degree Course – Practitioner
This is the next step for your Spiritual development. There are further attunements that will increase your healing ability. Your Spiritual and Psychic ability will be boosted by a further 80‐100%. You will learn about the Sacred Reiki Symbols, Scanning Auras, Beaming Energies and Distant Healing Techniques.
3rd Degree Course – Master Practitioner
This third step is called ART, meaning “Advanced Reiki Training”, and is at the Master Practitioner level. For this level, you will be taught to heal in more depth than the levels above, plus the Spiritual and Cosmic levels, and you will be attuned to the Sacred Reiki Symbols to assist you in achieving this.
4th Degree Course – Master Teacher
The 4th Master’s Degree allows you to teach Usui-Tibetan Reiki to 1st & 2nd Degree levels. You will be taught the sacred attunement processes and course plan guidelines. Also, your level 4 attunement will further enhance your Spiritual and Cosmic levels.

Courses span over 2 days (Usually over a weekend but weekdays can be accommodated on request) and include a full-colour manual & framed certificate.
Astra Reiki is used for all treatments and other services (except Degree level courses).
